After working in Childcare for 12 years, it was time to take on my own adventure! The idea of Puffin’s was born a few years ago, and finally in 2018 the dream came true. My journey started in a Nursery where I started as an Assistant Practitioner. In my time at this Nursery I gained my qualifications and two promotions, leading me to Head of Room. From there I moved onto another Nursery where after starting as a Head of Room I worked my way up to the Management Team. My most recent role was as a Private Nanny for two lovely families, who I am still in contact with now. At Puffin’s I am taking a ‘hands-on’ role.

I joined the Puffins team in 2019, starting out as an Early Years Practitioner and have had the opportunity to progress my professional career whilst here, which has led to my current position as nursery manager. I thrive in this role and enjoy both supporting and guiding the staff to develop new and exciting opportunities, that allow the children to grow and reach their full potential.

I have had extensive experience working in both nursery and school settings, supporting children’s development from babies through to school aged children. This has enabled me to better develop my understanding of the key milestones in children’s development and support children in acquiring the requisite skills to prepare them for life outside of Puffins.

I have been working in Childcare for 12 years and have previous experience working as a Baby room and Preschool room leader, and Third in charge, and I have been a private Nanny for the last 4 years.

I am excited to be working at Puffins and being back in a Nursery setting and getting to know all the children. I love being able to support children in their learning and development and love being back as part of a team.

After a career change seven years ago, I joined a nursery and in the time I was there I gained my level 3 diploma in childcare. Soon after, I had my daughter and then began to nanny which I have continued to do ever since.

I now have a son as well who will be coming along with me to Puffins and although I have taken a step back from full time childcare, it is still a huge passion of mine and I am looking forward to being in that environment again and seeing all your littles ones thrive!

Hello I am Lorena, I am level 3 qualified and have two children of my own. I have worked in childcare for 10 years in various different roles; After school club, Nurseries, Spanish teacher and Holiday clubs. I thrive in helping children and watching them grow and progress. I love getting stuck in and doing activities with them.

RACHEL

Hi. My name is Rachel, I’ve been teaching for 10 years and have experience of all year groups from reception right up to year 6. I’ve also taught in secondary school.

I have a passion for preparing children for school and ensuring they feel confident and prepared for starting their journey in education. My children attended puffins and we have maintained a close relationship with the nursery and staff.  Since starting work at Puffins last September I have built close relationships with the pre-school children. We have phonics and maths sessions every morning.

The children are following the ‘Read, Write Inc’ phonics scheme and have made huge progress learning their letter sounds. We spend some time each week practising writing our letters too.

In maths we follow the ‘birth to 5 matters’ framework, focussing on new maths topics every few weeks. The children loved learning their shapes, counting to 10 and recognising numbers. We’ve also looked at measurement, simple addition and sharing.

Hi I am Casey. I am level 3 qualified. I absolutely love seeing and being part of children's development. I enjoy getting messy and using a range of resources to make activities exciting and fun! I have been at puffins since 2019, recently I have taken on a Private Nannying role so I will be doing that alongside my new role here at Puffins as SENco support.

I joined Puffins back in 2019, and am excited to be back as part of the team. I have my level 2 in Childcare and have worked in childcare for the last three years. I really enjoy baking with the children and doing arts and crafts activities.

Hello, My name is Abbey. I am currently studying for my childcare qualification. I have a huge passion to care for the children and strive to make sure they are happy whilst learning and growing. I care for each as if they're my own and aspire to build special bonds with each child by supporting their unique strengths and providing challenges to develop their learning.

I am qualified to Level 3 and have been working within Childcare for a number of years now! Currently I work part-time as a private nanny and will be working as part of the Bank Team to support Puffin's with any special events and holidays! You will usually see me on Fridays.

Hi I am Ivi and have just moved to Walton from Cardiff since the completion of my degree. 

I am very excited to expand my childcare knowledge and look forward to watching the children grow. I enjoy creative activities with the use of different tools and resources, and look forward to having a positive impact on the children's everyday life at Puffins.

My name is Elena, I have been working at Puffins since 2019 and I love it! I enjoy cooking for the children and love to see them enjoy my meals. I like to go into the classroom and do activities with them when I have some free time. I love making the children desserts and making them into different shapes for them to enjoy. I hope to be at Puffins for the foreseeable.

I've been working in Early Years for 8 years and have experience as a Head of Room caring for babies in a previous nursery. I love getting the children up and dancing and excited to learn new things through the day as well as art and music activities.
